An Ode to Fall Weekends
I read this article and found it so intriguing and inspiring.

Although I don’t know if I agree 100% with everything the author wrote, there are so many good tips for a way to have a weekend be the time to recharge. Anytime we are gone or there is something that is planned for a whole weekend, I always miss the ‘normal weekend’. I suppose it’s the sentimental side in me again. I hope you can take the time to read that article, but if not, here’s some of my key takeaways that I hope I can incorporate more.
Maybe Saturday should be built around light, instead of the clock. For example, when the sun goes down, work stops. Yes, that goes for us ladies too. This gives time to relax and get to bed at a decent time, which in turn leads to a rested and more timely Sunday morning.
Do something outside every weekend, even if it’s just a simple walk.
“Clear the necessary, savor the optional.” Get done what has to be done, done, and then enjoy whatever else gets done or happens.
Take care of gear. This includes sports gear, outside tools, kitchen supplies that are used often, vehicles, etc. I also love the thought of children mending their own gear. Of course I don’t have first hand experience with being a parent, but it does seem like a great life lesson to teach. :)
Be altogether in a shared space for a while. This teaches respect for each other, and each other’s space.
Find ways to communicate to your neighbors, even if it’s a wave, a cherry “good afternoon”, or a friendly honk as you drive past their place.
Sunday is a day to reset. Most of all, it is the day we can focus on giving praise to our great Creator. Reset your heart, and the rest will fall into place.
Happy weekend my friends. 🍁
